In the manual entitled "Apple Presents Apple //c, An Interactive Guide", page 16 refers to the Keyboard Switch (represented by the symbol on your computer). For the Canadian system, the keyboard switch alternates between the standard American keyboard layout and a layout which includes the French characters that have been printed in blue on your keyboard.

Pressing down the keyboard switch gives you the standard American keyboard. When the switch is in the "up" position, pressing the keys which have two sets of characters on them will cause the characters that are printed in blue to be displayed on the screen (all other keys remain unchanged).

La page 16 dans le manuel intitulé "Apple Présente l'Apple IIc, Guide Interactif" mentionne le commutateur du clavier, (representé par le symbole sur votre ordinateur). Sur le système canadien, le commutateur sert à passer du clavier américain au clavier canadien français et vice versa. Le clavier canadien français indique les symboles français en bleu.

En position enfonçée, vous mettez en service le clavier américain, et en position relevée, le clavier canadien français. Quand le commutateur est en position relevée, si vous pressez sur une touche où deux caractères sont imprimés, seul le caractère imprimé en bleu apparaît sur l'écran; l'autre ne change pas.
